Copper Curry Horse Brush

The Kawell Copper Curry Horse Brush is made from 100% copper and can be used safely without cross-contamination between horses. This curry brush is an effective grooming tool designed to remove dirt, dust, debris, and shedding hair from your horse’s coat while also stimulating the natural oils in the skin.

Daily use can help improve coat condition. The nano-copper particles released with each stroke contribute to maintaining hygiene. Its ergonomic design provides a comfortable, secure grip, allowing for efficient grooming without the need for frequent deep cleaning with water and soap.

Copper naturally has antimicrobial properties, with the ability to kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi on contact by disrupting their cell membranes and destroying their DNA. It is highly effective against a wide range of pathogens.

Usage Instructions

Hold the copper curry brush firmly yet gently in your hand. Use circular motions to groom the horse’s coat, following the natural direction of hair growth. Apply light to moderate pressure, adjusting based on your horse’s sensitivity.

Start with larger muscle areas such as the neck, shoulders, back, and hindquarters. Be gentle around sensitive or bony areas like the legs, face, and belly.

Periodically remove accumulated dirt, hair, and debris from the brush during use. Rinse with water after each session to prevent buildup.

FAQs
  1. What makes a copper curry brush better than a standard curry brush?

A solid copper curry brush naturally kills bacteria on contact, helping keep grooming tools cleaner while loosening dirt, hair, and debris from the coat.

  2. Is the copper curry brush safe for daily use on horses?

Yes. The brush is designed for regular grooming and is gentle on the coat while still being tough on dirt—ideal for everyday use on most coat types.

  3. Can a copper curry brush help reduce cross-contamination between horses?

Yes. Solid copper naturally kills bacteria on contact, helping reduce the transfer of bacteria and microbes between horses when grooming—especially important in shared barn environments.

  4. Can the Copper Curry Horse Brush be used on multiple horses?

Yes. Because the brush eliminates bacteria and fungi on contact, it's safe to use across different horses without risk of cross-contamination.

  5. Do copper currys need to be cleaned the same way as rubber or plastic currys?

No. Unlike rubber or plastic currys, copper naturally self-sanitizes and kills bacteria on contact, typically within about two hours.

  6. Are copper grooming tools safe for sensitive skin?

Absolutely. The Copper Curry Brush is gentle yet effective, making it suitable for all coat types, including horses with sensitive or allergy-prone skin.

  7. Can copper-based tools replace chemical disinfectants?

No chemical or antibacterial cleaners are needed — the copper naturally self-sanitizes by eliminating bacteria on its surface.

Copper curry

My horses are mad for this grooming tool, for scratching or for some muscle massage, they actually let me know where they want me to curry them. I love that they love it!!

I am very upset. False advertising when the sales pitch says they are solid copper. Yet, after using mine the copper color is painted on and areas of wear show base metal.

Hi Geoffrey,

We've attempted to reach you by phone and email with no response. We'd like to help you with this issue if you could contact us. We’d also like to reassure you that our product is made of only copper and is not painted. However, due to the natural properties of copper and its interaction with environmental elements, some color changes or reactions may occur.

Excellent Curry Comb

I like using this lightweight curry comb. I can use it when grooming multiple horses without cross contamination. The copper is pretty and made fun holiday gifts.

First of all, I absolutely love Kawell products! The copper alloy shoes saved my mares feet. I purchased two of these copper curry’s, gave one as a gift. My horses really enjoy a good currying and I enjoy currying them. Every morning, I go through to each one and curry them before they go out for the day. It’s nice not having to switch out a curry for each horse (as that’s what I have done previously). Thank you

Best Curry Brush

I love my kawell curry brush! I had tried various other curry brushes before I found the kawell. I like the ease of use and it’s perfect for working the drying powder into my horses coat after a ride. I even have one for my dogs now and their fur is the softest and most illicit ever been! Works amazingly well with the drying powder !!

Very nice!

I have used this copper curry brush on my horses and it worked beautifully! It fits very nicely in my hand and so easy to get the dirt out of it. I don't have to worry about it falling apart.

Exceptionally nice grooming tool!

As a former pro groom, I really lie the feel and size of this curry. Metal has its place in the lineup of grooming tools, and not just for cleaning the dust and dirt out of the soft brushes between strokes. When caked on mud has hardened to the consistency of cement, metal is the only way to loosen its grip on a winter coat. For shorter coats they are also very handy, obviously not for use in sensitive bony areas, but many horses will LOVE to lean into it when you get to those big fat muscles where they love to be scratched, and get little satisfaction from the rubber curry or grooming mits, or gloves (that wear out). The single metal one I had left is so old I haven't used it in years for fear the leather handle will snap, so I was glad to try this new model. Bonus that it's antibacterial copper, which means that any residual dust left on it will not brew up a skin infection to transfer between horses. Really nice product and I'm looking forward to putting one in every box in the barn.
